Quan Guan 100321 WWII German Pz.Kpfw VI Ausf.B Tiger II ( Sd.Kfz.182 )

Long wait, but the Quan Guan Tiger II “King Tiger” is finally here, figures not included! Starting with T1, in the usual QG quality: very good clutch power, the tiles almost without any small scratches. Unfortunately, on page 14, assembly step 44 (picture 2), the engine, the manufacturer made a serious mistake. There should be 4 Technic pins and 4 round tiles, not just 2 as shown in the instructions. This part is built twice, left and right sides, so 2 pins and 2 tiles were missing. Luckily, I was able to replace them with parts I already had. A shame, it dampened the building fun! On to T2, finished and no missing parts. When assembling the upper frame and the rear section, you have to position and press precisely, but then it holds really well. I particularly like one great detail on the rear: the bucket! T3 is up first with the tracks. With a few links, some casting residue had to be removed from the hooks where the next link is inserted; only then did they lock into place properly. Overall, I'm not 100% satisfied, as the specified 35 links per side seem like too many, since the track sags quite a bit. Unfortunately, 34 links are too few. If they had used the links from the QG Panther instead, just slightly smaller, there might not be so much sagging. And there are more missing parts: the hammerhead, the axe, and the entire tooling casting! T4, the turret is a bit of a problem. The machine gun is positioned somewhat awkwardly, but the worst design flaw is the gun barrel; it can't be moved vertically and is stuck in one position. T4, the turret is a bit of a mess. Overall, the T2 looks good, but due to missing parts, various poor designs that affect functionality such as the track, machine gun position and mounting, and the fixed gun barrel, I am somewhat disappointed with this model. It's a shame, it certainly could have been better, therefore 7 out of 10 points!

Absolutely beautiful model with amazing interior detail, lots of extra equipment and a fairly simple build process. However, the instructions are a little unclear at times when working on the turret, the ball-mount MG piece was molded incorrectly and wouldn't fit the MG barrel and it would be better if the set came with figures. Overall a very good experience, but the bad piece was really frustrating

Great set from QG! It is essentially the same as their Limited edition but with a different camo. The color chose is interesting, I'm not sure about it, but it's certainly not bad. Overall it's a little more expensive then their regular sets, so I can only give it 8/10.

A good model, all parts present, well made and of a good fit. only minus point is the lack of crew (I added the commander myself). Found the turret does not click into place, although this isn't a major drawback as it sits well withought being connected.

Great build and FAB static model at completion. As expected from Quanguan, clear and easy instruction, complete and good fitting bricks. Occasional use of superglue, especially on track guards, no figures in kit.
