YOURBRICKS 60001 Star Trek Borg Cube with Lights

As a star trek fan, I really enjoyed this model and it proudly sits on my display shelf. The bricks are all very high quality and the PDF instructions were complete and easy to follow. The finished model, of course, is a cube... Each side is a 16x16 plate with a lot of details built into each side. Each side also has a 2x2 round green light, which you supply 2 batteries each. They are turned on/off by twisting them. it is a great effect as shown in the product video. I did go through a little effort to replace the provide lights with MOC green leds... definitely non-trivial to run the wires, but I was happy with the similar effect and easy USB switch instead of 6 twisting light each time I want to enjoy it lit up. the 6 16x16 plates are mounted on a frame inside, which is also built of an 8x8 grid of 2x2 side-stud bricks. In the end, I turned over 50% of these 'inside' rather than out as shown in the instructions as it made pressing the plates onto the substructure easier. Hope this makes sense, as you build it will. It was a fun build with lots of detailed steps needed for each side and also included is a nice display mounting base. Easily a 5-Star model with a ton of detail built into each side of the cube. I recommend this model and of course YWOBB and their stellar service.
